Louisa Garrould was born on 8th April 1846 in Wangford and "received into the church" on 21st December 1846. She was the daughter of George Henry Garrould (1818) and Rachel Howell. In 1851 she was living in Chediston Street, Halesworth, and attending the chapel school. In 1861 she was aged 15 and was working as a servant in the household of Mary Rudge, the 80-year old widow of a military officer, in Millhill Street in Halesworth. By 1871 she had moved to Ingate Street in Beccles and was a cook and domestic servant in the household of farmer John King Garrod. She married Raymond Broughton (1842) at Halesworth Parish Church in 1871. In 1878 she was living at 10 Galatea Terrace, Athens Road in Peckham Rye. In 1881 she was aged 35 and living in New Road, Beccles. In 1891 she was aged 45 and living in Ingate Street, Beccles. In 1901 she was aged 52 and was working as a monthly nurse. On the census day she was staying at Seaview Cottages, East Street in Lowestoft, helping to nurse the young children of 19-year old Mrs. Maud Rose. In 1911 she was living at 500 London Road, Lowestoft with her son-in-law Henry Knights and daughter Kate. Louisa died on 22nd March 1913 at 500 London Road. The cause of death was mitral valvular disease and her son, Lemuel Charles was present at the death. She was aged 66 and buried on 27th March 1913 at Kirkley Cemetery, plot F/81.
