Rosa Ellen Broughton was born on 14th January 1872 in Beccles. She was the daughter of Raymond Broughton (1842) and Louisa Garrould. She was reputedly deaf and dumb from birth - perhaps from meningitis. In 1881 she was living in New Road Beccles. No other data for Rosa has yet been found, and she may have died before 1891.
