My mother's family - the BROUGHTONs - originate from East Anglia. My father's family - the AINSCOUGHs - originate from Lancashire. This website is split into two sections, dealing with East Anglia and Lancashire respectively. Each section shows the ancestry of the family and the families related to them. To see the various branches of the families, click the names in the menu bar on the left-hand side of the window. Click the EAST ANGLIA link to see the Broughton and related families.

The individual names in the left-hand menu bar represent most of the main branches. The NAME INDEX link displays most, but not all, of the known individuals for Lancashire - and not all the individuals have their own web page.

Each individual web page displays the spouse, parents, grandparents and great-grandparents (where known). Pages for male members of the family also display the children. Direct ancestors are shown in boldface. The camera icon indicates that a photograph is available.

Some birth, marriage and death certificates are available. Where these are available for an individual, appropriate links are included, below spouse and children information. A list of all available certificates can be seen by clicking the BMD INDEX in the left-hand menu bar.
