Ellen
Booth was born on 23rd April 1843 in Blackrod and was the daughter
of John Booth (1800) and Ann Cunliffe. She was christened on 30th
April 1843 at St. Katherine's Church, Blackrod. In 1851 she was living
in Blackrod. In 1861 Ellen was living in Little Scotland
and was working as a shoe maker. She married Ralph Ainscough at the
Wesleyan Methodist Chapel in Chorley on 30th October 1865. In 1871
she was living at 13 Little Scotland in Blackrod. On 1881
she was working as a coal miner and was living at 434
Top Toll Bar, Westhoughton. In 1891 she was living at 256 Chorley
Road in Westhoughton. In 1901 she was living at 306 Manchester
Road, Westhoughton. She died, aged 79, from old age and heart failure at 121, Manchester Road, Westhoughton, on 23rd January 1923.
