John Eke was born in Guestwick on 23rd March 1808 and christened on 22nd March 1808 . He was the son of Peter Eke (1772) and Ann. He married Susannah Scott on 9th January 1829, probably in Guestwick. In 1841 he was living on the Green Guestwick, and working as an agricultural labourer.
