Mary Ann Ollerton was born around 1866 in Wigan or Coppull. She was the daughter of William Ollerton (1841) and the granddaughter-in-law of William Ainscough (1816). In 1871 she was living at Coppull Moor. In 1881 she was working in a calico print works in Coppull. She married James Ainscough (1867) in 1889. In 1891 she was living at 22 Little Scotland in Blackrod. In 1901 she was living at 99 Lower Ground, Standish with Langtree. In 1911 she was living at 184 Standish Lower Ground.
