Walter Ainscough was born on 29th May 1891 in Blackrod and was the son of James Ainscough (1867) and Mary Ann Ollerton. In 1901 he was aged 9 and was living at 99 Lower Ground, Standish with Langtree. In 1911 he was living at 184 Standish Lower Ground and working as a coal miner. He married Ada Patterson at St. George’s church in Wigan on 3rd July 1915. He married Lily Broome in Ince in 1937. He died in 1963 in Parbold, aged 71.
