Mary Barton was born in Haigh in 1844 and was the daughter of James Barton (1807) and Mary. In 1851 she was living in Arley Top Row, Haigh. She married William Booth (1840) in Haigh in 1863. In 1871 she was living in Little Scotland, Blackrod. In 1881 she was living in Little Scotland. In 1891 she was a widow living at 4 Blundell Lane, Blackrod. In 1901 she was living at 8 Blundell Lane with her unmarried daughter, Ellen.
