Notes for Solomon Ainscough
Solomon Ainscough was born on 2nd June, 1866 in Pemberton. In 1871 he was living in Goose Green in Pemberton. In 1881 he was a labourer in a coal mine and was living at 2 Little Lane in Pemberton. He married Mary Beardsmore, daughter of William and Eliza Beardsmore, in Pemberton in 1890. In 1891 he was a fireman in a coal line and living at 196 Enfield Street, Pemberton. In 1901 he was working as a fireman in a coal mine and was living at 141 Enfield Street, Pemberton. In 1911 he was living at 290 Warrington Road, Pemberton, and working as a colliery underlooker. In 1939 he was living at 6 Howard Street, Wigan and listed as a retired underground colliery manager. He died in the Wigan RD in 1943, aged 77.
