William Ainscough was born in 1900 in Pemberton and was the son of Solomon Ainscough (1867) and Mary Beardsmore. He was the son of John Ainscough (1839). In 1901 he was aged 6 months and living at 141 Enfield Street, Pemberton. In 1911 he was living at 290 Warrington Road, Pemberton, and at school.
