Notes for Owen Murrell
Owen Murrell was born in Norwich in 1848 and was the son of iron foundry master William Murrell (1820) and Rachael. In 1851 he was living at the Westgate Street Foundry in Norwich. In 1861 he was living in St. Stephens Square, Norwich. He married Emily Lucy Mingay (1846) in Norwich in 1866, by whom he had a daughter - Emily Rachel - and abandoned her for Lillian Gertrude (born Margaret Elizabeth) Crothall. He had seven children with Lillian between 1871 and 1884. He went to Ireland with the Inniskilling Dragoons and settled in Edinburgh, where he married Janet Rose and where he died in 1904.

He abandoned her and lived with Lillian Gertrude (Mary Elizabeth) Crothall, with whom he had 7 children, between 1871 and 1884. Owen was posted to Ireland with the Inniskilling Dragoons.
