Kathleen Mary Markland was born in Horwich on 16th January 1946 and was the daughter of Doris Ainscough, (1918) and John Markland. She married Gareth Parkinson on 29th March 1967 and Leslie John Duckworth on 27th November 1978. She had a son by Gareth Parkinson: John Markland (1969) - name changed by deed poll to Duckworth.
