William J. Eke was born in Stakeford Lane, Northumberland, in 1875 and was the daughter of William Eke (1833) and Sarah Ann Fuller. In 1881 he was living in Short’s Terrace, Bedlington, near Morpeth. In 1891 he was living in Bedlington and working as a coal miner.
