Mary Holding was born in Aspull in 1886 and was the daughter of Richard Holding (1859) and Ann Heyes. In 1891 she was living at 10 Higher Gullet, Aspull. In 1901 she was living at 2 Brook Street in Aspull and working as a cotton card room tenter.
