Alfred Amos Garrould was born in Ditchingham in 1883 and was the son of Edward William Garrould (1852) and Anna Chipperfield. In 1891 he was living in Station Road. In 1901 he was working as a printing machine minder and was living in Station Road. In 1911 he was still living in Station Road and working as printer’s machinist. He married Gertrude Attoe (1889), daughter of George Attoe and Eliza Baker, at Norwich Parish Church on 15th January 1913. He later became a turf accountant. He died in Norwich Hospital on 20th August 1958, aged 74, from pneumonia following from a fall at home and a fractured right femur.
