Notes for Tom Mangnall
Tom Mangnall was the son of Thomas Mangnall (1853) and Ann Winward and was born in Leigh in 1887. In 1891 he was living at 18 Baker Street, Westleigh. In 1901 he was working as a cotton machine boy, and was living at 20 Kirkhall Lane, Leigh. He emigrated to America in 1911, sailing on the S.S. Laurentic from Liverpool on 11th March. His last address in England was his father’s: 121 Kirkhall Lane. His destination was Paterson, New Jersey. He became an American citizen on 3rd October 1917. He returned from England with his wife and daughter Ruth Ann, sailing on the S.S. Baltic from Liverpool on 27th August 1920.
