Thomas Mangnall was the son of William Mangnall (1762) and Ann Harrison, and was christened in Westhoughton on 17th September 1784. He married Ellen Pierpoint on 30th August 1812 at Deane by Bolton. He later married a woman called Ann, before 1841. In 1841 and 1851 he was living in Dobb Brow, Westhoughton and working as a cotton weaver.
