James Hurst was the son of Fanny Ainscough (1867) and James Hurst. In 1901 he was living at 11 Manchester Road, Westhoughton. In 1911 he was living at 36 Chorley Road, Westhoughton. In 1917, he was living at 13 Chorley Road, Westhoughton, and was present at the death of his grandfather, Ralph Ainscough.
