William Booth was born in Blackrod in 1896 and was the son of Joseph Booth (1871) and Ellen. In 1901 he was aged 5 and was living at 20 Little Scotland, Blackrod. In 1911 he was living at 378 Manchester Road in Blackrod and was working as a haulage hewer in a coal mine.
