Millicent Ainscough was born around 1896 in Hindley and was the daughter of Michael Ainscough (b. 1848) and Elizabeth. She was the granddaughter of William Ainscough (b. 1816). In 1901 she was aged 5 and living at 12 Off Houghton Street in Hindley. In 1911 she was living at 198 Wigan Road, Hindley.
