George Ainscough was christened at St Katherine's church on 15th January 1860. He was the son of William Ainscough (1816) and Margaret Waring. In 1861 as George Ainscow, he was living at Farm House in Blackrod. In 1871 he was living at Little Scotland, Blackrod. In 1881 he was working as a coal miner and was living with his father in Dark Lane, Blackrod. He married Sarah Heyes in 1884 and, in 1891, was living at 18 Little Scotland in Blackrod. He was working as a coal miner. In 1901 he was an underground works inspector in a coal mine and was living at 67 Little Scotland. In 1911 he was living at 36 Little Scotland and was a haulier.
