Alice Ann Ainscough was born in Pemberton around 1868 and was the daughter of John Ainscough (1839) and Alice Baines. In 1881 she was working as a reeler in a cotton mill and living in Little Lane, Pemberton. In 1891, she was working as a cotton spinner and was still living with her parents, at 171 Enfield Street, Pemberton. She married William Heaton in 1897. In 1901 she was living at 5 Southern Street in Pemberton. In 1911 she was living at 2 St. Stephen’s Yard, Billinge Road, Pemberton.
