MARY ELLEN WINWARD (1877 - 1959)

Mary Ellen Winward
Mary Ellen Winward was my great-grandmother and married my great-grandfather, George Ainscough, in 1898 in Westhoughton. Mary Ellen started work as a young girl, and was a dyer and printer in a calico factory. There's no date on this photograph, but I imagine it was taken in the early 1900s. George and Mary Ellen had eight children - one son and seven daughters - between 1899 and 1918. All survived.
