Mary
Ann Waring was born in 1845 in Orrell and was the daughter of Margaret
Waring and the stepdaughter of William Ainscough (1816) who took her
mother as his second wife. In 1851 she was living with her mother
and grandparents at the Ginnel, Hindley. In 1861 she was living with
her stepfather, William Ainscough at Farm House, Blackrod. She married
James Ainscough (1843), William's son, on 13th June 1863 at St. Katherine’s
church, Blackrod. Her father’s name was John Richardson on her
marriage certificate. In 1871 she was living in Cock Tavern Yard,
Blackrod. By 1881 she was living in Little Scotland, Blackrod. In
1891 she was living at 384 Manchester Road in Blackrod. In 1901 she
was living at 278 Atherton Road in Hindley.
