Henry
Rawston was born in 1837 in Little Walsingham and was the son of Richard
Rawston (1812) and Susannah Smith. He was the grandson of William
Rawston (1784). In 1851 he was working as a bricklayer and was living
in the Robin Hood inn in Little Walsingham. He married Rebecca Plane
around 1855. In 1861 he and his family were living with his father-in-law,
Robert Plane, in the Bridewell, Little Walsingham. Henry was then
working as a journeyman carpenter. In 1881 he was a builder and the
licensee of the Robin Hood. From 1865 to 1896 he was the landlord
of the Crown in Guild Street, Little Walsingham, and was a builder,
contractor, wheelwright, lime-burner and general smith. He was listed
as a carpenter in 1883. In 1901 he was a builder in Little Walsingham.
