Mary
Pomfrey was born in 1864 in Hingham and was the daughter of Charles
Pomfrey (1828) and Mary Bayes. In 1881 she was aged 16, was working
as a dressmaker and was living at the Smith's Shop, Shenley, Herts
at the forge owned by her uncle, John Bayes. She married a tea merchant
called William Kingham Dyson in St Paul's church, St. Pancras, on
21st August, 1889. In 1891 she was living in Market Square, Aylesbury.
In 1901 she was given as age 32, though she was probably aged 36,
and living at 104 High Street, Watford.
