Charles
Pomfrey was born around 1828 in Hingham and was the son of Thomas
Pomfrey (1768) and Mary Houchen. In 1841 he was aged 15, was working
as a tailor's apprentice and was living at Fleeter's Hill, Hingham.
In 1851 he was aged 23, was working as a tailor and was living at
Hall Moor, Hingham. In 1854 he was listed as "Chas. Pomfrey,
tailor" in Hingham. In early 1861 he was living at Fleeter's
Hill with his mother and grandmother. He married Mary Bayes around
1861 and he was living with his mother in the Market Place, Hingham
in early 1871. He died in April 1871. He was buried at St Andrew's
Church, Hingham on 14th April 1871.
