William
Mangnall was born in Westhoughton in 1860 and was the son of Peter
Mangnall (1822) and Mary Coop. In 1861 he was aged 4 months and was
living at the Dams Head, Westhoughton. In 1871 he was living in Chapel
Lane, Westhoughton. In 1881 he was working as a coal miner and was
lodging in the house of Joseph Boardman at 294 Chorley Road. By 1891
he had married Elizabeth and was living at 224 Chorley Road. By 1901
he had become a clogger and was living at 66 Church Lane.
