TOM MANGNALL (1887 - ?)
Tom Mangnall was the son of Thomas Mangnall (1853) and Ann and was born in Leigh in 1887. In 1891 he was living at 18 Baker Street, Westleigh. In 1901 he was aged 14, was working as a cotton machine boy, and was living at 20 Kirkhall Lane, Leigh. He emigrated to America, sailing on the S.S. Laurentic from Liverpool on 11th March 1911 with his destination given as Paterson, New Jersey. His occupation was given as a warehouse man, and his next of kin in England was given as his father Thomas, living at 121 Kirkhall Lane in Leigh. Tom married a woman called Nellie around 1911 and became a US citizen on 3rd October 1917. Tom came back to England at some point and is listed as a passenger - with his wife and daughter - on the S.S. Baltic, which sailed from Liverpool on 27th August 1920. His address was 350 Union Avenue, Paterson.
