Thomas
Mangnall was the son of Peter Mangnall (1822) and Mary Coop and was
born in Westhoughton in 1853. In 1861 he was aged 8 and was living
at the Dams Head in Westhoughton. In 1871 he was working as a silk
weaver and living in Chapel Lane, Westhoughton. He married Ann Winward in 1875 and was living in Chapel Lane in that year. In 1881 he was living at 3 Harrison's Square in Wigan and was
a roller coverer in a cotton mill. By 1891 he was living at 18 Baker
Street in Westleigh. In 1899 he was present at the death of his father,
and was living at 20 Kirkhall Lane, Leigh. In 1901 he was still at
Kirkhall Lane and was working as a roller coverer in a cotton milll. In 1911 his address was given as 121 Kirkhall Lane..
