Peter
Platt Mangnall was the son of Henry Mangnall (1800) and Mary and was
born in Westhoughton in 1832. In 1851 he was working as a steam weaver
in a cotton factory and living in King Street, Farnworth. He married
a woman called Betty. In 1861 he was working as a railway porter and
living in Rushton Street, Great Bolton. In 1871 and 1881 he was living
at 13 Peel Street, Bolton, and working as a railway porter. In 1891
he was living at 17 Glynn Street, Bolton, and working as a railway
warehouseman. In 1901 he was a retired widower. Living with his unmarried
daughter Jane at 17 Glynn Street. Peter died in 1909.
