James
Mangnall was born in Westhoughton in 1844 and was the son of William
Mangnall (1818) and Ellen. In 1851 he was living in Dobb Brow, Westhoughton.
In 1861 he was working as a silk weaver and living in Balfin Fold,
Westhoughton. He married Margaret Downs from Walmsley in 1866. By
1871 he had moved to 6 Cookey Moor Road, Elton in Bury, and was a
gasworks stoker. In 1881 he was living at 51 Nuttall Street in Bury
and, in 1891, was living at 30 Canning Street. He probably died before
1901.
