Jesse
Mangnall was born in Westhoughton in 1838 and was the son of Abel
Mangnall (1797) and Ellen. In 1841 he was living in Dobb Brow, Deane
- later Westhoughton. In 1851 he was living in Dobb Brow and working
as a silk weaver. In 1861 he was living in Chapel Lane and working
as a silk weaver. He married Alice Holden in 1867. In 1871 he was
working as a joiner and living in Grove Lane, Westhoughton. In 1881
he was a joiner journeyman and living in Kingsdown Terrace, Harrington
Road, Abram. In 1891 he was a cottage joiner and living at 8 Wright
Street, Abram.
