Ellen
Mangnall was the daughter of Peter Mangnall (1822) and Mary Coop and
was born in Westhoughton in 1857. In 1861 she was aged 4 and was living
at the Dams Head in Westhoughton. In 1871 she was working as a silk
weaver and living in Chapel Lane, Westhoughton. She married coal miner James Brindle in 1878. In 1881 she was living 10 Church Lane in Westhoughton. In 1891 she was living at The Grange Cottage in Lostock and, by 1901 had moved back to Westhoughton, where she was living at 132 Windmill Lane.
