Abel
Mangnall was born in Westhoughton in 1876 and was the son of Jesse
Mangnall (1838) and Alice Holden. In 1881 he was living in Kingsdown
Terrace, Harrington Road, Abram. In 1891 he was living at 8 Wright
Street, Abram, and working as a coal mine labourer. He married Elizabeth
Ann Darbyshire, who might have been his second wife, in 1897. In 1901
he was living at 4 Wright Street in Abram and working as a coal hewer.
