The Broughton Letters 1837-1890
Letter 29: 12th March 18??- from William Broughton
Dear brother and sister, I have wrote a few lines to you hoping they will find you all in good health as, thank God, it leaves us all at present. Dear brother, you sent word you were alone. Now that poor sister is gone, I think that I am alone at Edgefield. It would be so nice to meet all once again in this world, what few of us there are spared. Dear brother, you wanted to know how brother John is. I do not know anything about him. I wrote 2 letters when poor mother died. He never answered neither of them. He is living in Norwich. Brother Robert's family have all left Edgefield, all but William. He is the youngest. He is living with his mother and he sends his kind love to all. Dear brother, I should like to see you and, if I had only myself I should, and would soon come and see you all. My wife's kindest love to you all. Give my kindest love to Robert, and I should be pleased to see him. I think he might come and see us. Dear brother, I hope that you will write to me soon. With kindest love to all I remain your affectionate brother, William Broughton. My daughter wished to write a few lines to you, so I have sent this in her letter. Goodbye.
