Dear Brother and sister
I have rote these few lines to you hoping thy will find you
in good helth as thy leaves us all at present thanks be to
god for it dear brother I am glad to hare you are all well
and doing well give our kind love to your childring and tell
them we should like to see them all but tis two far a distance
from us but iff we never meet hear on earth no more I hope
we shall meet in heaven dear brother I am sorry to hear that
my brother george is not doing so well as I should like to
hear he was your brother robert and his famley send thear
love to you all and thy are all well you mother sends hear
kind love to you all and she is as well as we can expect at
hear age mother is living with me as she is not mutch fit
to live alone at hear age she is 78 years old her next beerth
day she gets half a stone flower and 1 from the parish a week
give my kind love to my sister sarah and her husband and famley
and we should like to see the 2 young men over this summer
I think thy might find a wife hear for hear is plenty of garles
that wants husbands Brother son Robert was married last week
Marry is married my daughter sends her love to her unkels
and aunts and to all her cusins she say she should like to
come and see them all she have send a lock of her hear dear
brother I have not got much good nuse to send from edgefield
for that is a povety place as it allways was I think if you
was to come over you would not know whear to find edgefield
wood for thy have cut it allmost all down and tilled it thear
is a house belt thear and scotch man live int to see after
the land Mrs. Osborn is verry bad with a placktstroke so that
she have to be helpt out of bed and inn she have been so thes
2 years she is at a great expence so that she cannot send
mother but very little now my wife sends her love to you all
and she is got about again she have been confined about 5
weeks child is dead I have berread 3 one boy and 2 garls she
would like to come it is was not for the warter you must excuse
all blots and blunders dear brother I hope when you rite again
I shall hear a better account of george for its a strait
lane wear thear no turne I have sent a lock of my hear and
Mother have send a lock of hears georges wife and child is
quite well I hear thear is some more of Edgefield people coming
over to america this spring I hope you will rite again as
soon as you can so no more at present from your every loving
brother and sister William and Rebecca Broughton
