| Walter Holding was the son of William Holding (1837) and Mary and was born in Hindley in 1876. In 1881 he was living at Alexandria House, Nottingham Road, Stapleford, Notts. In 1891 he was boarding at Ratcliffe College in Cossington, Leicestershire. He married Frances Helena Page in the Hendon RD in 1900. In 1901 he was living at 33 Chapel Road, Willesden, and was working as a colliery agent.
