| Elizabeth Holding was born in 1856 in Hindley and was the daughter of James Holding (1810) and Jane Goulding. In 1861 she was living in Ladies Lane, Hindley. In 1871 she was still living in Ladies Lane and was working as a cotton factory hand. In 1879, she married John Foster from Shevington. In 1881 she was living at 272 Withington Lane in Aspull. By 1891 she had moved to Standish and was living in "Gidlow Houses". In 1901 she was living at 21 Gidlow COttages in Standish.
