| Eliza Holding was born in Aspull in 1852 and was the daughter of James Holding (1810) and Jane Goulding. In 1861 she was living in Ladies Lane, Hindley. In 1871 she was still living in Ladies Lane and was working as a cotton factory hand. She married Thomas Foster in 1878. In 1891 she was living at 9 Elliott Street in Hindley. By 1901 she had moved to Westhoughton and was living at 548 Wigan Road.
