GIBBS (1827 - 1906)

Ann
Gibbs was born in Ditchingham in 1827 and was the daughter of innkeeper
Edward Gibbs and Ann. In 1851 she was assisting in the running of
the Duke of York inn in Ditchingham. She married baker William James
Garrould around 1854. From 1861 to to 1891 she lived in the bakery
at The Heath, Ditchingham. William died in 1886, when the business
was taken over by their son William. In 1901 she was living with her
widowed daughter Ann at 62 Mill Road, Gorleston. She died in Yarmouth
in 1906, aged 75.
