HENRY GARROULD (1853 - 1908)
Henry Garrould was the son of William James Garrould (1815) and Ann Gibbs and was born in Ditchingham in 1853. In 1861 he was living on the Heath, Ditchingham. In 1871 he was living in Norwich Road, Ditchingham. In 1881 he was working as a fisherman on Joseph Allerton's fishing boat "Victor" at Lowestoft. In 1891 he was working as a labourer in Bungay and lodging at the "Kings Arms". In 1901, at the age of 46, he was a pauper in the Shipmeadow Workhouse, between Bungay and Beccles, in Suffolk. He died in the Woodbridge district - probably in the workhouse - in early 1908. His age was given as 58, but he was actually 54.
