EDWARD
WILLIAM GARROULD (1852 - 1926)

Edward
William Garrould was the son of William James Garrould (1815) and
Ann Gibbs and was born in Ditchingham in 1852. In 1861 he was aged
9 and was living with his grandparents at the Duke of York in Ditchingham.
In 1871 he was living at the Swan Inn in Kirby Cane and working as
an apprentice bricklayer. He married Anna Chipperfield in 1879.
In 1881 he was living in The Heath, Ditchingham, and working as a
bricklayer. In 1891 and 1901 he was working as a bricklayer and living
in Station Road. Anna Chipperfield died in 1912 and, at some point, Edward moved to the Halesworth area where he married Anna Parker in 1915. He died in 1926, aged 74.
