Walter
Eke was the son of John Eke (1808) and Susannah Scott and was
born in Guestwick in 1851. In 1851 and 1861 he was living on the
Green, Guestwick. In 1871 he was living with his mother and stepfather, Daniel Newman, in Foulsham and was a farm labourer He married Ann Pierce in 1872. In 1881 he was living near the Pine Apple, Great Fransham, and working as an agricultural labourer. By 1891 he had moved to Toftrees near Walsingham and was living in Coombes Meadow. In 1901 he was living in Ranham Road, Toftrees, and working as a labourer and cowman.
