William
Eke was the son of John Eke (1808) and Susannah Scott and was born
, probably in Guestwick, in 1833. In 1841 he was living on the Green
Guestwick. In 1851 he was living in Guestwick and working as an agricultural labourer. He married Sarah Ann Fuller from Corpusty in 1859. In 1861 he was living at Old Tulling Mill in Saxthorpe and working as an agricultural labourer. By 1871 he had moved to Bedlington, near Morpeth in Northumberland, where he lived until at least 1901. In 1871 he was working in a coal mine. In 1881 he was listed as a labourer and was living at Short's Terrace. In 1891 he was working as a hawker. In 1901 he was widowed and living in the household of his son-in-law Adam Robinson and daughter Christiana at Ratters Buildings.
