THEOBALD EKE (1843-1906)
Theobald Eke was born in Binham in 1843 and was the son of William Eke (1799) and Esther Flood. In 1861 he was aged 18 and was working as a grocer in Binham. He married Harriet Dawson in 1864 in Walsingham. By 1871 he had moved to London, was working as a cabman and was living at 68 Marlborough Road in Chelsea. He was working as a coachman in 1881 and was living at 41 Ives Street in Chelsea. In 1891 he was living at 35 Pellant Road in Fulham and listed as a groom and cabman. Harriet died in 1894 and in 1898 he married Annie Hemmings. In 1901 he was aged 58, was working as a hackney carriage driver and was living at 80 Stanley Road in Fulham. He died in 1906, aged 64.
