Samuel
Eke was born around 1849 in Corpusty and was the son of Jonas Eke
(1803) and Martha Reynolds. He was the nephew of William Eke (1799).
In 1851 he was living with his parents in Corpusty. In 1861 he was
working as an agricultural labourer in Corpusty. In 1871 he was working
as a carpenter and living at the Horse Shoe Inn in Corpusty. In 1879
he married Mary Ann Pack from Hackney. In 1881 he was working as a
carpenter at 28 Cobden Road, Sevenoaks. In 1891 he was living at 113
Albert Road, Willesden and working as a grocer and carpenter. In 1901
he was living at 56 Charlton Road in Willesden and had his own grocery
shop.
