Louisa
Eke was born in Binham in 1852 and was the daughter of William Eke
(1826) and Elizabeth Daplyn. In 1861 she was aged 9 and living with
her parents in Great Walsingham. In 1865 she was a witness at the
wedding of Edmund Pomfrey and Mary Timbers in Langham. In 1881 she
was aged 29, was unmarried and was working as linen draper's assistant
in a shop in King's Lynn. In 1891 she was still single and working
as a draper's assistant in Bradford Street, Norwich. In 1901 she was
aged 49 and was running her own draper 's business at Oak Street in
Fakenham - where Edmund and Mary had retired to by 1901.
