Joseph
Eke was born in Foulsham and christened in Guestwick on 8th February 1811 and was the son
of Peter Eke (1772) and Ann. He married a woman called Charlotte. In 1841 and 1851 he was living in Bintree Road, Foulsham and was an agricultural labourer. By 1861 he had moved to the Street, Hindolveston, where he was working as an agricultural labourer. In 1871 he was living on the Dies, Hindolveston, and farming seven acres. In 1881 he was farming twelve acres in Hindolveston. By 1891 he was a pauper in Hindolveston and he died there in 1895.
