WILLIAM
BROUGHTON (1846 - 1902)

| William
Broughton was born around 1846 in Edgefield and was christened on
19th June 1859. In 1851 he
was aged 5 and living in Edgefield. In 1861 he was living at Cross
Road, Edgefield. By 1871 his father had died and he was living with
his widowed mother on The Green, Edgefield. He was then working as
a labourer. He married Ann Elizabeth Wall from Cley-next-the-Sea on
22nd September 1875, and was her first husband. In 1881 he was working
as a groom and living on The Green, Edgefield. By 1891 he
was working as an agricultural labourer and living in Plumstead. In
1901 he was working as an agricultural labourer in
Edgefield. He was living at the White Horse, Cross Green, Edgefield,
where his wife was a housekeeper. He died in 1902 and was buried in
Edgefield on 25th March 1902. |
